Lukashenko urges even playing field for university applicants

It is necessary to ensure an even playing field for university applicants, especially during the exam campaign, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at a meeting to discuss the current university admission campaign on 6 June, BelTA has learned.

“I would like to reiterate that my main requirement is fair treatment and justice, especially during the exam campaign,” the Belarusian leader said. According to him, it is important to provide such an approach to university applicants who are taking their first independent steps into adulthood. “These are young people, the future elite, the future leaders of the country. They are making the first major step into the future. We need to ensure that their transition into adulthood is as smooth as possible,” the president said.

The president set the task to analyze the university admission system once again and to make the final decision on this issue in 2024. This topic will be considered at a large meeting, similar to the one recently held to discuss the operation of the country's healthcare system.

“There should be no mistakes here, never mind any abuses. You know my position: everything should be fair and clear for people,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
