Belarusian Belavia to launch direct flight to Russia's Murmansk on 23 May

The Belarusian air carrier Belavia is set to launch direct flights to Russia's Murmansk on 23 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the air company.

Flights will be conducted on Tuesdays. Passengers will depart from Minsk at 10:15 and arrive in Murmansk at 13:00. On the return flight they will leave Murmansk at 14:00 to arrive in Minsk at 16:40.

A one-way ticket will cost from €134, a round-trip ticket will cost from €244 (Light fare).

The duration of the flight on this route will be less than three hours. Passengers will fly on Embraer 195.

Belavia Director General Igor Cherginets expects that this route will become popular among business representatives. “Murmansk is a major industrial center well-known for its fish processing, metalworking and other industries. Murmansk also has great logistics potential as it is a large port city,” he stressed.

According to him, this service is oriented both on passengers traveling in transit through Minsk and on tourists who prefer unusual routes. “Here you can see the northern lights, visit the ski slopes, picturesque hills and a real nuclear-powered icebreaker, go on a boat trip and watch whales. We will be glad if with the opening of the flight guests from the Polar region will visit Belarus more often and will be able to appreciate its tourist attractiveness,” the director general said.
