Defense minister: Belarusian army has everything it needs to defend Belarus

The Belarusian army has everything it needs to defend the country, Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said addressing new recruits who took the oath of allegiance at the 72nd Guards Joint Training Center, BelTA has learned.

According to Viktor Khrenin, thousands of young people swore allegiance to Belarusian people. In his opinion, taking the military oath is an important military ritual. “From now on, citizens of our country trust you with the most precious thing - the future and present of the Motherland. Yesterday's boys undertook the duty to selflessly defend the independence, territorial integrity and constitutional system of Belarus,” Viktor Khrenin said.

The defense minister emphasized that despite a difficult situation near the Belarusian border, the country remains peaceful, stable and calm: “And our task is to make sure it will remain so.”

Viktor Khrenin said that the defense of the Fatherland is a responsibility and a sacred duty of citizens of Belarus. “Today, the Belarusian army has everything necessary to defend its country. It is mobile and is equipped with the most advanced weapons and military hardware. Yet, the main factor is people: those who perform combat training tasks today, those who are on combat duty,” Viktor Khrenin is convinced.

Addressing the new recruits, the defense minister drew attention to the fact that military service is hard men's work: “You will have intense combat training, take part in drills, learn how to use modern equipment and weapons, acquire a military specialty. It will not be easy, but if you close ranks with your comrades under the guidance of experienced commanders, you will be able to handle everything and after getting such an experience you will grow stronger,” he said.
